We are very much a school that never closes. Some of you may be here at weekends. Some of you may be here for the majority of weekends but go and stay with family on friends on others. Some are here Monday to Friday and then others (especially in the younger years) try out staying here as occasional boarders.

The longer you are in the school the more you will get out of it. In the week lessons finish at 4.10. After tea there are activities. Then there is prep. Then supper. And then more formal activities. Or you could just go and hang-out. Perhaps you will do one on one evening and another on a different evening. You might want to go and practise whatever instrument it is you play. You may be in a rehearsal. You may be part of a band.

The lively young staff who run boarding here ensure that those who live here learn now to look after themselves and each other. They learn the give and take of living together.

Don't you miss your family?

I thought I would. But I wanted so much to come to this school and I couldn't be a day pupil so I said I would try. It's the best decision I ever made. Its like having a second family. I simply love it. There's so much to do and I have already made superb friends."

Did your parents always have it in mind that you would board?

No. In fact it was a threat to my older brother and myself. "If you don't behave you'll board".   But my brother wanted to come to the school to join his cousins. And it was agreed he would try it and if he didn't like it maybe Mum & Dad would move. He loved it. So I came too. And now I am passionate advocate of boarding."
