The school has a campus wide local area network with suites of computers at a number of points around the site. The majority of work stations are PCs. There are two suites of Macs, one in the main teaching area and the other in the Art Department. Pupils who own laptops can link into the school network via the wireless LAN. The Internet is available to all pupils via the school network for research and communication. It is filtered on-site so as to minimise the amount of inappropriate material accessed by the pupils.
Frensham encourages the appropriate use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. There are interactive white boards in all departments and on line / on screen resources are used in many lessons. The school has a growing bank of computer based resources available to help pupils and to broaden their learning experience. The school's Network Manager is available to help pupils to set up their laptops appropriately and the school employs an additional ICT specialist to assist staff in using technology across the curriculum. Pupils are encouraged to use computers appropriately for class work, prep, coursework and to access the Internet or send emails.
